Société Française de Biochimie et Biologie Moléculaire

The Junior Section of the SFBBM (JS-SFBBM) was created in 2023 with the aim of bringing together young scientists (from Master's students to Postdoctoral researchers) in biochemistry and molecular biology, to build a community in France—driven by a “by young researchers, for young researchers” approach. We also offer events throughout the year focusing on careers, scientific writing, and funding opportunities, available both online and in person. Want to stay in the loop with our latest updates, events, and opportunities?

The JS-SFBBM is also part of a European network of young researchers in biochemistry and molecular biology, representing the Constituent Societies of the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS). Currently, 17 national societies are involved — and our goal is to bring all of them together in the near future. Our mission is to build connections among young scientists across Europe by fostering collaboration, mobility, and the exchange of experiences. We also encourage local engagement by motivating young researchers to join their national societies and to establish active junior sections. In addition, we host monthly online seminars led by young scientists, publish interviews and articles on the FEBS Network, organize networking events (both online and in person), and collaborate with FEBS journals, the Women in Science initiative, and advanced courses.
